Te Whānau a Apanui have placed a rāhui on Motu River.
The 1st June marks the end of the kahawai season and the closure of the Motu river to fishing and swimming until the rāhui is lifted on 2 November 2020.
This rāhui allows for the regeneration of the pātaka kai and follows the tikanga of the Ringatū Faith. It has been in place for generations.
