This project builds on the He Pātaka Waiora project undertaken during 2015 and 2016 and focuses on developing a comprehensive monitoring toolkit.
The purpose of the toolkit is to:
- assess the health of Waikouaiti River
- quantify the effect of the restoration projects
- detect any persistent negative influences on ecosystem health
- establish a secure and user-friendly platform to access data
- revive Mātauranga Māori and passing on knowledge to younger generations.
