Huka Falls Scenic Reserve is now closed from all visitors to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
Yesterday, Te Kotahitanga o Ngāti Tūwharetoa Trust announced the rāhui effective immediately. Given the lock down it was unlikely that there would be many visitors, however it was closed as a precaution – an effort to protect the community from the disease.
The Trust directed the Department of Conservation to implement the closure on behalf of the Iwi.
